Many scientists and engineers from the U.S., Canada, and other countries have been involved in the planning for the science and education associated with ocean observatories in the Northeast Pacific Ocean.
Two institutions have taken major leadership roles in addressing regional ocean science and education: the University of Washington in the U.S. and the University of Victoria in Canada, the lead institution implementing NEPTUNE Canada.
